Grand 36th birthday anniversary celebration of Yoke Wong Thai Tay Temple in SEA Park, PJ


A grand ceremony celebrating the 36th founding anniversary of the Yoke Wong Thai Tay (Jade Emperor God) temple was held at the temple in Jalan 21/22, SEA Park in Petaling Jaya on Sunday Dec. 20th 2009 (the 5th day of the 11th Chinese lunar month).

Thousands of devotees thronged the temple to offer prayers to the resident deity Yoke Wong Thai Tay (Jade Emperor God) where they wished him happy birthday and in return seek blessings of good fortune, good health and longevity from him.

The temple served free delicious vegetarian lunch to all present.

A grand show was put up on its anniversary. There were two sets of lion troupe and a dragon troupe performing to the thrills and shrills of the crowd of devotees and everyone present.

Popular local singers provided the night’s entertainment on a stage set up under a white-top tent on an empty space opposite the temple.



The Yoke Wong Thai Tay (Jade Emperor God) temple in Jalan 21/22 SEA Park, Petaling Jaya is crowded with devotees offering prayers in celebration of its 36th birthday anniversary.
